This project is located on ground floor of an old Courtyard Mansion in the heart of the former French concession of Shanghai, China. It was used to be British trading enterprise’s apartment in 1930’.

The house is protected as well as the existing details, contains the original window frame, molding, and brick structures. Our design had to be a contemporary environment for architect’s office within the classic ambience, respecting the existing. So we decided to create a series of steel framing devices, which are desks, shelves, and garden pergola. It would be succeeded to harmonize between the existing and new contemporary elements to create a creative office.
